The License property should be used whenever working with a runtime control (most of Exontrol’s controls are runtime controls or require a runtime license key to function). In design mode, it is transparent as it is automatically saved in the form’s persistence. However, when creating the control at runtime, a runtime license key is always required. Note that the runtime license key is different from your development license key. If you are using the registered version of eXPivot and want graph capabilities, you must also purchase eXGraph to enable its use. In this case, please contact us to request a runtime license key for eXGraph, which should be used within the License property. Requesting the eXGraph runtime license key is free as long as you have purchased the component, but you will need to provide a registered email address. The ControlID property specifies the program identifier of the control used to define the custom view.

Please note the following for the /NET version:

• The ControlID and License properties have no effect. The ControlID property always returns the type name of the object set by the Object property, while the License property always returns an empty string.
• call Object property to specify the eXGraph/NET object to customize the view of the pivot-table, as ExPivot1.CustomView.Object = Exgraph1, where Expivot1 and Exgraph1 are instances of exontrol.EXPIVOTLib.expivot and exontrol.EXGRAPHLib.exgraph placed within the same form.

If the custom-view control fails, a message like '<ControlID>' component creation failed will be displayed, as shown in the following screenshot:

If this message is shown please make sure that:

• The eXGraph control is installed (use /COM for the eXPivot/COM version, /NET for the eXPivot/NET version, and so on)
• The License property has been set

If the watermark logo is displayed below the eXGraph, as shown in the following picture:

please make sure:

• You have installed the registered version of eXGraph. Note that the evaluation version is limited and always displays a watermark. The License property has no effect for the evaluation version. It only applies to registered versions. In other words, even if the License property is specified, if you are still running the demo version, the watermark will not be hidden or disappear, regardless of the License property setting.
